About Mrs. Mueller:
I grew up in New Jersey, about 5 miles from Philadelphia. I started piano lessons when I was 8 years old and continued through college. In middle school my favorite subject was band; I played oboe. Through high school, I played in band and was drum major of the marching band my senior year. But my favorite class became choir. I sang in concert choir and madrigal choir – it was so much fun and I especially loved the performances. So it’s not surprising that I chose to go to college and study music education.
I attended Indiana University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education for Choral/General and Instrumental Music with high distinction. I moved to TX with my husband and taught elementary music in Houston for over two years. Then, in 2006, my husband won a position in the Louisville Orchestra and we moved to Louisville, KY. I am proud to be teaching elementary music and movement in Bullitt County since then.
I completed my Master’s in Music Education with a concentration in Orff-Schulwerk at the University of Kentucky in 2013. I also completed my Kodaly levels at IU in 2006.
I have a Kindergartner and toddler at home and spend most of my evenings and weekends having fun with them. We enjoy playgrounds, the Zoo, the KY Science Center, the pool and playing sports in our backyard. When I am not teaching or tending to my children, I enjoy running, yoga, and cooking.
